The open pit started in the fall of 1914. Once they pumped it out the soil was so good they even built a golf course there for the Flin Flon people to use. I'm not sure what ever happened to that golf course. It's a different one than the Phantom Lake Does anyone know?
There was a lake that was named Flin Flon Lake. Under the lake was copper and other minerals. They needed to get rid of the water so they pumped it all out. They dug a hole called the Open Pit. by Jamal

Before Flin Flon was a town, Main Street was a swamp. People would have to walk on a skinny boardwalk, singlefile. They would always have to wear rubber boots because it was so swampy. Drunk people would push so they had be careful and give them some space. By: Shanti
There was team of horses that were pulling beer in a wagon The beer and wagon began to sink. They had to unhitch the horses, and some of the beer and the wagon sank. By: Marty

The hundred stairs are in Flin Flon because some people that had to go to work and school uptown. They lived downtown ,so they built some stairs to make it easier to get to work and school. By: Mya
There is a bomb shelter under the Hundred Stairs. They built it so people could walk through the rock instead of using the Hundred Stairs. They didn't go all the way through because, it cost too much money. So they locked it up on the bottom of the Hundred Stairs so nobody could go through.
